About

Hi, I'm Matt.

I'm a counselor, a husband, a friend, a soccer coach, a perpetual student, and someone who spends an embarrassing amount of time thinking about why people do what they do.

Matt Schertzer standing along the Irish coast.

I was drawn to counseling from a young age - through psychology classes that fascinated me, my faith journey, sports, through my own seasons of asking hard questions about meaning and how to live well.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The Ohio State University and am finishing a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at the University of the Cumberlands. I currently practice under my CT license C.2507054-TNRE.

Outside of the office, I'm probably reading, listening to a podcast, traveling with my wife, coaching high school soccer, leading YoungLife, or hanging out with my friends.

I take this work seriously because I take people seriously. If you're reading this and considering reaching out, that already tells me something good about the kind of life you want to live.
